The famous quote “Marriages are made in Heaven” is proving to be false in the modern times, in most of the matrimonial homes the Mother-In-Law, (MIL) has brought up and maintained the Family for years but with coming of the “Daughter-In-Law, (DIL) problems start arising when she wants to make her husband and in- laws her puppets to have financial control in her hands, for her personal scores and to lead a luxurious life .
The Indian Government and the whole system including the Police the Judiciary, the Lawyers, the Bureaucrats the Society And Media are supportive and equally responsible for the present situation in the country where the concept of BREAKING – FAMILIES” is accepted as “Modern Living” The 15 “UNCONSTITIONAL LAWS” promoted by the “NCW” and acknowledged by the “LAW COMMISSION” has not benefited the society in any way as the real victims do not get justice but with the increasing “MISUSE” of laws like 498A and Domestic Violent Act has lead to violence and harassment to husbands’ family leading to destruction of the “INSTITUTION OF MARRIAGE”.

In the Indian society “FEMALE FOETICIDE” is a common term. We generally talk of ‘GIRL CHILD HATRED’ among the parents specially a mother craving for a son and not for a daughter. The “GENDER BIAS” starts from this very thinking. A daughter being regarded as a liability by those parents who wish to encash the “MARRAIGE” of their daughter by marrying her in a family from where they can benefit monetarily is very common in the present society even at cost of hiding the shortcomings of the daughter. They want to “USE” her and so train her accordingly. This is the reason why they marry their “NOT SO GOOD” DAUGHTER” in a “RICH AND WELL TO DO FAMILY” from where they can encash money. A section of parents think it is their right to extort money from the in-laws of the daughter to make up for all that they spent on their daughter in natal home. The popular saying “LADKI PARAYA DHAN”, is used by them to make the” paraya dhan“ of the “SON-In-LAW” (FREE ATM MACHINE) their own by filing false cases of “DOWRY HARASSMENT”, “DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND MAINTENANCE” with help of the police, the lawyers the judiciary ,and the laws supporting them which can be” MISUSED” for this mission.

The Honorable Minister for Law and Justice
Sub: The unfortunate situation of today’s mothers-in-law
Today we are celebrating the Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi in the whole nation. Gandhiji has quoted that. “Our nation will truly be independent when the women our country is free”. But are the women really free? It is paradoxical because in the present day, the “Mothers-in-Law” are “most unfortunate” lot of women especially those who have a daughter-in-law.
Today’s mother-in-law had been dominated by their orthodox mothers-in-law but they’d suffered silently because she was a responsible and caring woman. But now the same mother-in-law suffers the ordeals of a “Daughter-in-Law” who is an “Empowered Woman” because she has the support of 15 laws protecting her, the society, and the whole Government system at her disposal. But the mother-in-law has not a single law for her protection from such daughters-in-law. Even the National Commission for Women (NCW) discriminates in the spirit with which they acknowledge a mother-in-law’s and a daughter-in-law’s complaint. Mothers-in-law are often ignored or at best counseled when they approach the NCW with their grievances but no action is taken against the errant daughter-in-law.
