05 Sep 10 First Anniversary of AIMPF
Today on the 6th September 2010, AIMPF (All India Mothers-In-Law Protection Forum) is celebrating the first anniversary as an NGO. Within a span of one year we have got our due recognition and to a large extent we have been successful in creating the needed awareness in the society about the negligence of the mothers-in-law (husbands) and a total impartiality by NCW and WCD ministry, the Feminists, the police, the judiciary and the society, including the Government who do not include these old women in their agendas as women.
In the coming years we pledge to make our movement stronger. We are not ready to suffer at the hands of selfish and adulterous daughters-in-law. We want a peaceful and dignified life in our ripe years. The society and the judiciary need to realize this truth. Giving our beloved sons to a woman does not mean that we should be deprived of all our rights and property. Does marrying our sons become a crime for us?
My request to all those mothers who are suffering silently at the hands of their daughters-in-law, to come out in the open, and let the society and the judiciary know about pitiable conditions. We demand laws for our protection.
As a mark of honor for the day all AIMPF members will wear red saris and perform religious rites for the protection and well-being of their families.

AIMPF and other MIL’s need to take the fight to the courts now. Media coverage “alone” will not help them per say. MIL’s need to file a WP in the local HC and follow it up with a petition to the SHRC and the Rajya Sabha . MIL also need to demand protection under the DV act 2005 against their daughter-in-laws .
Just media coverage alone will not help the movement in any way , we need to also take the legal way now .
I sincerely congratulate and appreciate that at last women have thought of starting this forum.I want to be the member of chandigarh chapter although at the moment i am staying outside country because of husband’s posting, in whatever capacity forum will want my help i will gladly give to help those unfortunate mothers- in- law who like me suffered at the hands of a manupulative girl and her parents, who were just after money and put the blame on mother -in -law who never stayed with the son and daughter -in -law for a single day even. rather living thousands of miles away,(blamed for harrasing the girl!!!!!!!)and sending only gifts to her on slightest pretext, worst is the attitude of corrupt police officials who without looking into the merits/facts of the case harrass the boys parents and make you feel that you have committed a crime by giving birth to sons and the lopsided laws which need an urgent change, the TV serials which are still projecting the SAAS as the demon.

Congratulations on the first anniversary. I request you that this forum AIMPF should grow vastly and fastly to make a fullstop on the biased law.
